I once received a letter from a first grader that described me as "the best teacher in the hot white world;" I've been trying to live up to that description ever since. In my quest to do so, I spent some time doing AmeriCorps (and getting the most hilarious letters), some other jobs that all included bubble blowing, and am now I'm a speech language pathologist in the schools.

Music, Movies, and Books

Reading is pretty awesome...Some of my favorites are The Alchemist, On Beauty, White Teeth, and Shit My Dad Says. I also really love mysteries (but often need to sleep with the light on after because I'm a wuss). Walter Mosley and Agatha Cristie are staples.

Movies are cool too... especially Some Like It Hot, Naked Gun, Pink Panther (the old ones), High Fidelity, and Little Miss Sunshine.

I like most music, these are my favorites though, Metric, Rilo Kiley, Oldies in general, Fleetwood Mac, Simon and Garfunkel, Imelda May, Florence and the Machine, Motion City Soundtrack, and ZZ Ward.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Biking down through Big Sur in California always takes my breath away (although part of that may be the sheer cliffs mere inches away).
