About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Make it from Romania to Vladivostok overland. Preferably alive and without losing my passport/mind.
ABOUT ME
About me?
I'm a bit all over the place, so sorry if this mini bio is, too :)
! I love traveling, particularly alone, because that is how I have always met the most awesome new friends. Apart from 18 hour train journeys that involve having misread the Chinese characters for the trains destination and holding someone else's vomiting baby (very specific incident, but somehow it summarizes me as a person quite well...), I like petticoats, cats and forgetting my passport in various locations.
PHILOSOPHY
Confucius was drunk, too.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Story telling and hearing, coffee and whiskey-based chats, tripping over strangers on my floor in the middle of the night... the whole package.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've had only good experiences so far! I have couch-surfed in Hong Kong and China, and hosted many lovely people. I am a really excited about the opportunities that couch surfing presents; I can't wait to share my floor and cheap wine with more people! :D
Interests
Most of my interests are things I am not very good at, but that's something I have come to accept and embrace.
I love dancing in all it's forms, but particularly swing dancing. My motor-skills are limited at best, and my hand-eye-coordination is about the level of a three year old, but to me, there is nothing like stepping on people's feet and spilling drinks while I trample across a dance floor!
I love baking, but I tend to smoke up the kitchen. I love video games, but unless it's turn based RPGs, I pretty much lose 99 percent of the time. I like drawing, but having a portrait done by me has ruined long-term relationships. I'm pretty good at eating.

Music, Movies, and Books
Films (I am not a cinophile, but I am currently being educated by my friends!): Goodbye Lenin, The X-Files (Huge fan! If any of you out there are, PLEASE come visit me, so I have someone to talk about the awesomeness of MulderScully with), Blindness, all kinds of Documentaries, Game of Thrones (don't judge, I'd rather admit it now), Twin Peaks, Myazaki, Helter Skelter, Last Train Home
Music: Elvis Presley, Glenn Miller, ABBA, Ella Fitzgerald, Andrej Hermlin, Adele, Benny Goodman, Count Basie, Cranberries, Etta James, Fats Waller, The Baseballs, Swing Cat Club, Frightened Rabbit, Wir Sind Helden, Wise Guys, Nat "King" Cole, Buddy Holly, Tom Waits, Slow Club some obscure Swing/Rock'n'ROll... a lot :)
Books: I love reading, literature of all kinds... some of my favourites are Master and Margarita, Paul Auster, Room, Three Sisters, Iain Banks, Margaret Atwood, Andrej Kurkow... Basically, a bit of everything. I can't really list them all here, I don't think I'm allowed that much space :P
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
WOOFing in China and becoming a minor (like, really microscopic) celebrity for a week.
Watching Chungking express on a rooftop in Hong Kong.
Being told I look like Tom Cruise.
Telling someone they look like Tom Cruise, too.
Swing dancing on the Great Wall of China and on the balcony on the 25th storey in Hong Kong.
Teach, Learn, Share
Hm, I can teach you some languages, but probably not well. I can teach you a bit of swing, but probably even less well. Anything you want to know about the X-Files though, I have can dish out.
