About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To travel the world making music, taste foods from every country, dance wherever I go, and do my little bit to try and make the world a better place.
ABOUT ME
I am a lover of music, dance, food and nature. I've started making my own culinary inventions (and I'm prone to procrastibaking). I enjoy exploring - when I go to the beach my favourite thing to do is to climb the rocks at one end and find out what's on the other side.
My classical career is starting to come together, and the dream is to travel the world freelancing with various orchestras. I am big on dancing - I did years of ballet, then dabbled in Ceroc/Modern Jive, West Coast Swing, Salsa, Swing, and have recently immersed myself in Tango. I'm an environmentalist and feminist.
PHILOSOPHY
Do whatever you want, as long as you are harming no-one.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My family used to often host couchsurfers when we all lived in Sydney, and I met some incredible people through it, including Chiara who I now consider a sister. Rather than stay in hostels or hotels and do generic touristy things when I travel, I'd prefer to have a more meaningful connection with fewer people, and discover what residents think is special about a place.
Interests
Music, dancing, reading (especially fantasy), bushwalks, beach trips, boat rides, exploring, eating, cooking, conversations about unconventional topics...etc
- dancing

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: J.R.R.Tolkien, Terry Pratchett, George R. R. Martin
Music: Shostakovich, Strauss, Mahler, Britten and Tchaikovsky are my favourite 'classical' composers, in Jazz I'm partial to Nora Jones, Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra, amongst others.
Movies/TV shows: Sense8, Orphan Black, Brooklyn 99, Dear White People, Marvel, Riverdale, Lord of the Rings, Stargate SG1
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Going on a music tour to Colombia in 2013 - we played with a Colombian orchestra, us barely speaking any Spanish and them with very limited English, but we spoke the universal language of music. It didn't matter that we couldn't speak to each other, we were still able to make amazing music together. The people in the orchestra were also so positive and full of energy, and took themselves much less seriously than Australian classical musicians tend to do - I'll never forget the joy of making music together.
Teach, Learn, Share
My viola generally travels with me - I'm always happy to play you a tune or three if you like :)
I'm working on learning German and Dutch - I'd love to practice either, also happy to speak English if you'd like the practice yourself.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'd like to say I can cook you traditional Australian food, but we don't really have any...but I can certainly cook for you! Exchange life stories, play you some viola, talk about typically taboo topics...
