Hey ! I'm Marie-Andrée, from Montreal
I like discovering new places & meeting new people, breathtaking landscapes, drinking tea, animals and a lot more. I'm curently in my third year in university to become a speech therapist. I've been a counsellor in a summer camp for diabetic children for 3 years, after being myself a camper for 7 years. I guess we could say I'm cheerful, smiling, easy going and always ready for new adventures !

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'll be travelling to Indonesia for 6 weeks this summer, then India and then maybe Thailand or somewhere else in Asia. I think the best way to get to know a culture is by travelling more like a local than a tourist. Open to discover new ways of thinking/living :)

I probably could also host, but my couch is a small 2 places, not the most confortable

Interests

Food and cooking ! I think it's my favourite thing in the word, I'd be glad to cook with you or tasting local food !

I'm also a lot interested (and I must admit, I have a certain facility with them) in languages,I want to learn as many as I can.

I love to learn new things ! Let's talk about anything around a good coffee

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite author is Patrick Senecal, from Quebec.
I'd say my favourite movies are Ex Machina and Prisoners, if you haven't watch I strongly recommend them ! I also appreciate marvel's movies.
I listen mostly to indie/folks (Ben Howard, City and Colours, Bon Iver, Kodaline, The Franklin Electric, Ms Mr) but I also like punk, rock, pop and others from time to time

Oh and I like Harry Potter. !

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

7 weeks in a sea turtle volonteer project with olive ridley turtles in Ostional, Costa Rica. Best experience in my life ! Ask me about sea turtles !

Exploring wildlife in South Africa, absolutely loved living so close to nature

Humanitarian project in Honduras in 2014, learned a lot about myself there, and a great experience !

Also did a student exchange in Italy (Adriatic coast), which was pretty awesome.
