About Me

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm always available for drinks, or sightseeing in the Haarlem-area. I've lived here for 9 years (before i lived in Amsterdam so i can give some nice tips if travellers want to go there). Haarlem is a really friendly city, full of culture. Lots of great restaurants and cafés and musea i'd be happy to show you. Also the beach is really close :-)

Interests

Music, Movies, and Books

Big fan of the classic movies (Casablanca and such; from before the 60's). I read a lot from writers such as James Redfield and Paulo Coelho but every once in a while i mix it up with some light reading. I have periods where i can't concentrate on a whole book, my brain can then only appreciate short stories or magazines.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There have been many special moments in my life, but most are not so interesting for other people to hear about probably. But this one fairly recent experience comes to mind: in 2007 I spent a month in a monastery in Nepal, studying buddhism. This experience awakened my mind and opened me up to a more aware way of living and dealing with the happy and difficult stuff in life.
