ABOUT ME

Born and raised in a small town in Belgium, but eager to see the world. Whenever I can, I try to experience new things.

PHILOSOPHY

-Live like there's no tomorrow-

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've met some people when I was in Nashville and I hosted twice and those experiences were great. I'm hoping to host again soon.
I'm planning to travel around Europe with CS.

Interests

Going out, meeting people, drinking beers is always so great. Wherever I go, I try the local beers, love to talk about it too.
I read a lot, all kinds of books. There's nothing better than reading a great book in a rocking chair with a hot cup of tea when the weather is bad (which happens quite a lot here in Belgium). The same counts for watching my favorite shows or a great movie.
Food is a great interest. Love to eat, love to cook. I'm lactose intolerant, which sucks, but that just means I'm more creative while cooking :).
I started fencing a while ago. I know - sounds weird- but it is very cool. I also do some running or swimming.
I guess I can be a science geek, I'm a grad student so research is my thing.
I love nature - There's so much to see in the world, 'the forces of nature' can make you feel very small.

Music, Movies, and Books

I watch a lot of movies. I liked V for Vendetta, The Big Lebowski, Juno, The last king of Scotland, Palindromes, Little miss sunshine, a clockwork orange, Pulp fiction, Kill Bill,...

I love reading too, the last book I really liked was Khaled Hosseini's 'a thousend splendid suns'.

I like any kind of music, but I prefer rock, punk, poprock and indie. My favorites now are Mumford&Sons, The editors, Jamie Lidell, Ok Go, The national,... But that changes constantly.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Getting lost in the streets of Sotoboua (a small town in Togo, Africa) in the dark, while the rain was pouring down and a storm was coming up. I was so happy when I finally saw a light somewhere!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you dutch and french, I would like to learn or improve my spanish and german.
I can tell you something about beers, most of all the special Belgian beers (everyone should try some trappist beers, they are so good). I even had a class about beer at the university and I live in the stella hometown (Leuven). I'm always looking for the best local beer, it would be great that you can show me your favorite beer!
I love to cook. Exchanging recipes would be great.
I always seem to remember stupid, useless facts and everything concerning bio-sciency stuff. My research is about probiotics, so i can teach you A LOT about that.
