ABOUT ME

My name is Marika, and I LOVE to travel and meet new people! I lived for six months in Rome, and then after graduation took a five-month round-the-world trip through Oceania, Asia, and Europe. I generally fly by the seat of my pants and see what comes my way. I love laughing so hard that you hurt, being with friends, traveling to places that make your jaw drop, watching a great Formula One Grand Prix, finding the perfect spot to curl up and read a good book, baking things from scratch and eating the batter, standing cheek-to-cheek with horses, hugging big dogs, being able to sit quietly with someone, listening to music that makes you sing along at the top of your lungs and dance without caring what people think.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couch surfed for the first time as part of my round-the-world trip in 2008 with my friend Zach. We stayed with four different hosts through France, and it was one of the biggest highlights of my trip! I am really hoping to get more involved now that I am home!
