About Me
CURRENT MISSION
- Learning how to live a lighter, happier and more meaningful life.
- In search of the job that will pay the bills and still leave me some free time to keep working in film and art projects I believe
- Still trying to figure it out which artistic expression is my thing - or if I should go find my thing somewhere else... (maybe getting a bit old for not knowing this yet?)
ABOUT ME
I'm someone who loves to talk to people and hear their life and travelling experiences or to discuss deep subjects as issues related to social justice, gender inequality, for instance. At the same time, I can be this "serious person", I love to go out dancing or hiking or just exploring places I didn't know in my own town.
PHILOSOPHY
Trying to make a difference (even small) wherever I go.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I don't have a place of my own at the moment but I can give tips about Rio de Janeiro and others places I've lived and travelled to. Also, I try to attend Couchsurfing meetings and events. I've met some of the most interesting people in these places.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I was "flirting" with CS since 2009. For years I was too worried about the "risks" but I confess I had never really stopped to understand how it worked before 2014. Then I went to a CS meeting for the first time and suddenly (not really) I was as a guest for the first time (yeah! finally!). Only 2014! How much time I lost! How amazing is to get to know a place through a local (generous) host who is willing to show you his town but also curious and happy to learn about you and your culture. It was one of the most rich and significant experiences I believe someone can have. Maybe I'm exaggerating since I've had only 2 hosts so far. But from all I've listened from them and from other couchsurfers, I don't think I am. It's really amazing. Unfortunately, I'm working too much and didn't travel since then but I truly hope I can couchsurf more really soon.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Only one? A give you a few!
Creating a screenplay contest for stories with female strong lead roles. In 2 editions of the contest, we have received over 250 submissions and awarded R$20,000 to the winners.
Having started a youth hostel with 14 beds in 2010 and sold my part of the business in 2014. By then the hostel had 52 beds, 2 mentions on Lonely Planet, and it was one of the best-rated hostels of the city.
Having left my small town in Minas Gerais and went studying Film in Rio de Janeiro when I was 18. Sixteen years later, I've written and directed 3 short-films and worked as an AD in 5 feature films and 2 TV shows.
Crossing the US from Chicago to LA in a train, travelling on my own.
Travelling by bus from Cayenne (French Guyana) to Macapá (Brazil), through the Amazon Forest.
Finally, I decided I had to have the experience of living abroad and I made it. I'm living in Ireland since May (2017). And so far surviving the cold and the constant rain!
Teach, Learn, Share
I have no special skills as playing an instrument (I've taken piano lessons from 8 to 16 years-old but I have no talent at all) or cooking (I could try that if you don't have high expectations about the results!), but I have some thougths and stories to share about my country, my travel experiences (not that long yet, but meaningful), well... my general experiences with different humans beings in life so far.
