About Me
CURRENT MISSION
6 months in south africa (which i love) before i'll start placing my footsteps all over the globe
ABOUT ME
Let me see let me see. I'm 24, female, unattached (except for my ginger cat called Ichigo). I'm struggling to grow up, and I'm on a mssion to save the world. If that fails, I hope to save myself. My uni course directed me into the food industry, which I found to be petty and pointless. Then I discovered a stack of National Geographics, and promptly decided to travel the globe. That will start in 6 month's time. I'm trying to hook up some connections in the time preceding that, if you're interested. I also enjoy playing with fire (controlled), i'm obsessed with the moon and i cannot do handstands.
PHILOSOPHY
Why do I live my life? Because I was given the opportunity. I'll fill in the blanks a quote I've got stuck to my pc:
If the world were merely seductive, that would be easy. If it were merely challenging, that would be no problem. But I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world, and a desire to enjoy the world. This makes it hard to plan the day.
To believe is to be strong
Doubt cramps energy.
Belief is power.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
None as of yet. It's only been a week since I found out about the concept. And I dig it.
Interests
geez.. conversations. experiences. people. I dunno, I'm interested in life, i guess. Mine and others's. It's better than reality tv. Which I hate, by the way.
- cats
- dining
- tv
- traveling
- camping
- bungee jumping
Music, Movies, and Books
books first. last three read books -
the ringmaster's daughter (jostein gaadner)
swift as desire (laura esquivel)
Oh, Tom Robbins is probably my all-time favourite writer. I could eat his books for breakfast, lunch AND dinner.
music.. been supporting a lot of local artists, which always leans towards the electronic side. Also been loving a dandy warholds cd, and incubus recently. And some brazilian music. I like good music, regardless of the genre.
movies.. i tend to like the arthouse films, because it's got a lower candyfloss factor. I did enjoy Corpse's bride at mainstream cinema though.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Aside from the standard bungee/gorge swinging/adrenaline stuff...
I saw a dead wild boar over the weekend, its head stuck in a hole that it couldn't get out of. Made me think of this one story that featured a greedy fox. And I saw two white rhinos fighting. Went camping. This is Africa, baby.
