About Me

I am a lifelong learner who has recently been bitten by the travel bug. I've grown up in the same Midwestern city, Omaha, since I was born but I have a passion for learning history, languages, cultures, and people. Each of us is unique and has a story to share and somehow, through learning, opening our minds, and sharing these stories, we can create connections in the world and spread the love.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I finally took my first traveling trip and realized how wonderful travelers and people who love their land are. I love Omaha and the Midwest (I may be the only one) and I am willing to open my home to continue my learning. I've also noticed that if you travel beyond the tourist traps you can be more immersed in the culture with a sort of guide offering advice on where to go, eat, shop, etc.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am mostly into alternative music, though I have days where rock and metal make their way into my playlists. I appreciate jazz and blues, and of course any album from the 60s/70s for those later summer nights.
I do have a geeky tendency to watch superhero movies (specifically Marvel) because I grew up on the comics!
I believe a house is not a home without a bookshelf, and I've settled that thought. Crime novels, psychological thrillers, fantasy and science fiction tend to be my go-to books.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I've lived in this city in multiple areas for my whole life! I know what there is to do for almost any interest (no surfing here, sorry), but I also recognize that many people will be passing through either on the way to the East or West Coasts, and I can share a cup of coffee or a beer for the short while that you are here!
