About Me

I love studying other languages and learning about different cultures. I have recently graduated university with a Bachelor's in Literature and Language - I am a book fanatic through and through, and there is probably not much I love more in life than reading. I also love travelling, of course, and discovering new places and meeting new people and just jumping headfirst into a new landscape and culture, which is why I'm here.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Travelling is one of my greatest passions - the world is such a huge place and Couchsurfing seems to be the perfect opportunity to explore it while also meeting people from all backgrounds!

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: I love Douglas Adam's The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series, they will always have a special place in my heart for introducing me to science fiction. I am also a sucker for Oscar Wilde, Mary Shelley and most of English Gothic literature. Also, I am a huge Austen maniac. My taste in books is very varied, and I read anything from contemporary horor novels to classic Russian authors.

I love music, but my favorite genre would have to be musical theater. I don't know if this is a genre. I am aware I have bad taste in music.

My favorite movies are usually either comedies (Hot Fuzz would be my favorite), dramas or animations. Also, musicals.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I recently spent a lovely (and freezing cold) night inside an empty, closed train station in Belgium.
Advice to fellow travellers: always check what time the last train leaves or you might get stranded in a random station for the evening.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can talk about books for hours on end. And also TV shows.
I can also play the ukulele (badly) so I can teach anyone - or at least advise them on the best ukulele tutorials on Youtube. I'd say that qualifies as teaching.
I can also help with language learning, if the person is interested in learning English, Portuguese or French.
And I'm also willing to help with any translating needs, if they involve Portuguese/English.
