I think the best way to know a place is by meeting someone local. I love to know the culture and history, and meeting local people is the best way to find out about it in a more natural way. The experience of living abroad has given me the opportunity to meet people from different backgrounds and opinions, which is the most great and mind-opening experience one can have.
