Hello everyone!
This is Marina! I was born in Figueres, a city in northern Catalonia very close to France. I landed in Barcelona when starting my University degree where I stayed for over 10 years, after that I moved back to my hometown :)

Right now I am currently working full-time on the communications department of one of the leading technological centers in Spain. I love helping researchers communicate research results, I'm currently involved in several European projects. One of my secret passion is data journalism, which combines data with storytelling creating stories out of it.

What else? I believe that travelling is one of the best experiences in life so I like like to take the most of the holidays I have. I think we have to be grateful for what we have and enjoy every moment in our lives. Love to never stop learning new things; learning keeps me alive. Now trying yoga and russian.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have surfed several times in the States and across Europe, collecting some precious travel experiences! I hostes a couple of times in Barcelona but didn't continue due to lack of space.

I love couchurfing as a tool to meet amazing people with common interests and share unforgettable moments. Also is a great platform for learning about new cultures and practicing languages.

Interests

Love going hiking in the mountains, en early morning swim at the back, a good chat with friends after dinner, singing in the shower and cooking and eating well.

I really enjoy being outdoors, the pleasure of being around a bonfire we lit to warm us up when the night is cold and the satisfaction you feel when arriving to the summit or arriving to end of your route, tired but happy for the good moments spent.

I am also fond of cats, data visualizations and learning new languages.
