About Me

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It interests me to explore other cultures and learn about daily lifes and thoughts of people with different backgrounds, of people who grew up somewhere else. I am always willing to learn. I try to keep humor in my life and I like to put things into perpective.

I've had some very nice experiences with couchsurfing already in my own home country (the Netherlands), in Australia and in New Zealand.

Interests

-I'm interested in the human body: physiology, pathology, pharmacology. Always interested to learn more. Especially intriguing to me right now: technological developments in healthcare (big data, artificial intelligence).
-I'm interested in astronomy as well. I've taken some courses in this area during my minor and I just love to know a bit more about what I see in the nightsky and what is out there beyong our planet, our solar system, our galaxy.
-I love food. The best gift one could give me is taking me to a restaurant.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I saw the Northern lights for the first time during a roadtrip in Sweden. At some places in Scandinavia there are these great cabins that are free to spend the night in. We parkered our car and had quite a tough hike before we finally got to the cabin. It was such a great feeling already to have reached it! Then we cooked ourselves a nice meal on the wood stove with oven and we drank some red wine (yes, we carried it all the way). Then, on top of all that, when we went outside to watch the stars in the clear nightsky, suddenly the green colours of the aurora were dancing before our eyes (maybe somewhat exaggerated due to the wine)! Such a precious moment.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there.
