Hello World,

My name is Alexis, I'm 33 years old and I'm a French teacher for foreigners in a junior high school in France (near Paris). I'm also working at home about game studies (articles, blog and videos). I also write some stories for children and I love to learn new things and discover interesting facts about language.

I'm also a big fan of music (live of course) and cinema. Thanks to Paris, I can see a lot of movies. Well, if you want to hang out, discover fun things to do at Paris, here I am.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I tried Couchsurfing in the past after having traveled in Europe for several years, I would like to continue to discover a country, with the locals. My experiences of Couchsurfing were great until now and I definitly want to continue like this.

Interests

I like arts, from pop culture to Caravaggio passing by comics.

I like to cook for you some French specialties like "Quiche Lorraine" or "Tarte aux poireaux-lardons" or Italian recipes. So if you want to try a little taste of France, accept me :-)

I also like movies, books and music. So we could talk a lot about these topics if you want, around a cold or hot drink. I promise we have some cool artists in France and not just Edith Piaf :-)

I love cultural things : exhibitions, museums, plays, sports in big stadiums, etc.

I'm very interested by teaching French and more precisely to teach to foreigners. I know several things about languages and literature.

Music : I like Die Antwoord, several rock bands (Arctic Monkeys, Archive, Arcade Fire, etc.), some soul or rnb singers (Beyoncé, Adele, Alice Russell, Aloe Blacc), some old bands like The Beatles or Led Zeppelin and French singers like Camille or Luce.

Movies : Mad Max (the last one), Batman (Nolan), Japanese movies (Miike, Kitano, Kurosawa), Corean movies (Park Chan-Wook...), French movies (old movies from the 50's with great actors as Jean Gabin).

Authors : Charles Baudelaire, Louis Ferdinand Céline, Milan Kundera, Guillaume Apollinaire, Edgar Allan Poe, Ray Bradebury, Aldous Huxley...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I survived a Prague winter, a very cold one.

I visited a jail in Dublin and the museum of French fries in Belgium (Amazing !).

I saw an island full of monkeys in Guyane.

I saw a big show at the Apollo Theater in NYC.
