About Me

NO REQUESTS FROM AUG 8 TO AUG 22 please! I'm travelling.

Hi, I'm Marine!
I'm a psychologist, working with children and teenagers. It's an awesome job, sometimes exhausting, sometimes really satisfying. I currently live in Carcassonne: it's a famous city in France and Europe because of the biggest medieval city in ... in the world, I think. Well, it's the only thing that makes Carcassonne famous, actually. My plan in to move back to Montpellier when I'm done with my job!
I have two cats, that I love very much, named Camden and Kensy, like London bouroughs.
I can be shy, as I can be talkative; depends on my mood and if I'm tired or not. But basically I'm interested by people lifes, and I like to ask a lot of questions. Otherwise, I won't be a shrink! But I'm not going to ask you about your parents and your childhood, not when I'm on holiday ... except if you want to talk about it ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing because I've heard a lot about it, how awesome it is.
I wasn't disappointed when I first surfed in Vietnam and in Thailand, my hosts were very very welcoming. Staying with locals is the best way to get immerged in a culture. I had a very great experience and I want to do it again.
I came across a profile of a girl who was like "CS is not the Red Cross, don't stay with me if it's just cause it's free". Don't worry about it with me, I know it's also for budget. I'm totally ok with it!

Interests

Travelling was always one of my favourite hobbies. I travel since I'm 8, mostly with my family. I love discovering new places and new cultures, because it's the better way to stay open-minded.
I also love to surf the Internet, not gonna lie ... I'm a huge fan of American series, mostly fantastic, sci-fi, fantasy, thriller, comics-based series. I don't really like romantic ones. Well, I think it makes me learn English more easily!
I'm a Facebook addict ... Well, actually I always appear as connected cause my computer is on, but I really often do something else, elsewhere. Like watching series, or writing my CS profile for example!
Sometimes, I like to sew. I'd like to sew my own clothes but I'm not that good, actually.
And as everyone I guess, I love hanging out with my friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favourite band: Blood On The Dance Floor.
Favourite movie: Sherlock Holmes, the one from Guy Ritchie with Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law. I love it because it's a perfect mix between intelligence, humor, and action, also the visuals are beautiful and the music is awesome. The second one wasn't as good as the first. I love Tim Burton's movies too, not all of them, I was disappointed by Alice in Wonderland, I expected much better ... I love Sleepy Hollow and Sweeney Todd.
Books: Harry Potter, and mostly thrillers (JC Grangé, Mo Hayder, Harlan Coben ...)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The MOST amazing thing I've done is of course my travel in South East Asia during 50 days, on my own. I've met amazing people in Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia, and I have seen and done amazing things. I learnt on my own how to drive a motorbike in Thailand, with left driving. I have ridden an elephant on his bareback and without saddle (the best cause it doesn't hurt the elephant). I pet (sleepy) tigers. I ate dog (AND IT WAS GROSS !!) when in Vietnam. I crossed a street in Hanoï! (and everyone who went to a big city in Vietnam once know what I'm talking about haha). I visited Angkor and it was breathtaking. I had a monkey on my shoulder taking a selfie with me.
Anyway, this travel was even beyond awesome <3

What I Can Share with Hosts

I like cooking for my hosts!
And we could visit the City, it's the only thing to do here. Carcassonne is a sleepy little city, but it's near Toulouse and Montpellier and these cities are much more interesting.
