Overview
About Me
We are a couple, Marine and Romain travelling for one year though Europe and Asia. To sum up a little bit, 3 main steps: Europe by bike (2500 km from France to Estonia) - St Petersbourg - Pekin by train (Transsiberian) - South East Asia by foot, bus, train, boat, camel, poney and what we'll find, trying to avoid plane. And the way back to Europe through Middle-East (itinerary in progress).
(If you want to know more about our travel: detourmonde.wordpress.com - sorry, in french ...)
ABOUT US
We are 25 and 31 and work as civil engineer in Paris (Marine) and as journalist in Avignon (Romain). We love travelling and are curious to meet new people, culture, stuff...
We love going out and have a crazy night as well as stay at home for a cosy chat or even a deep sleep (unfortunately, sometimes, we need ... )
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We met a lot by couch surfing thanks to our CS-addict flatmate without creating our own profil. Now we are travelling, we would like to catch the opportunity to meet locals and discover from the inside the country we are visiting.
Later, once we will have a home again, we hope to host people our turn...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
- In Jordan, in a desert campsite (tourists no longer travel in this beautiful country for the rise of Daesh in Syria) on the edge of Dana valley, we spent one amazing evening with our host and two other person: a Dutch woman who had been touristic guide in the Middle east for twenty years before she retired and his husband from Yemen. Because of the troubles in his country, he had a lot of problems to make a visa for Europe and his wife had come here to wait with him an hypothetic outcome. Exciting night discussing of everything in the middle of nowhere in this amazing country, big memory. Another in Jordan when we spent in a cave house, with no tourists except us, sharing meal and singing traditionnal songs with locals. That's for moments like these that traveling is so good, is'nt it?
- Spending a night in the abandonned village of Kayakoy, in Turkey, and wake up with the view of the village on one side and the beautiful lagoon of Oludeniz on the other side.
