About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Let the unexpected widen the horizon of one day at a time.
(yes this crap is from me...)
ABOUT ME
I am a little hyperactive, talkative, passionate and messy. People say I'm spontaneous and fun but also a little crazy, unpredictable. I do not really know what I want, where I want to live, what I expect in life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My family is a blend of many cultures from several countries. China, Morocco, Japan, Vietnam, Pakistan, Guadeloupe... It's a pride and probably the source of my desire to travel, to meet people who can share with me their culture.
I haven't had the chance to meet all my globetrotter ancestors. I only have beautiful black and white pictures through the century and strange objects. Now, my family still looks like Benetton, each family meal is a crazy blend of flavors and influences.
Doing CS is like building a family around the world. I like the idea of widening the map of my strange family !
Interests
I love architecture, not only as a subject of study but as a way to experience other cultures, other sensibilities. Foreign architecture is an open book ! I love art in general, as the reflection of the world, for aesthetic and as a trace of a specific period of our history.
I LOVE MUSEUM to a point of insanity. Almost all of them because I'm so curious with new stuff. I can't leave a town if I haven't finished the museum I have planned to see. Exception for museum of contemporary art... I go for the architecture of the museum itself most of the time because collections bore me pretty quickly when art is taking itself too seriously.
I am passionate about photography. I never go out without my camera, his nickname is Bob. It allows me to capture the beauty hidden in everyday life. It also helps me remember the good times, significant events that my poor memory clears. //// I'm currently blind ! My camera was stollen in London and I'm saving for buying Bob's brother.
I enjoy cooking, especially sweet recipes (the carrot cake and apple crumble are my specialty). I have an awful addiction for cinnamon and honey, I can some on everything and anything. I love the flavors of other countries, spices and mixing sweet and salty. My love for foreign foodshop is almost as large as the one for architecture of churches and museums
I'm quite sporty. During weekdays, I usually run, swim and do crossfit exercices. I use my bike everyday, both for heath and ecological reason. During holidays, I love skiing and snowboarding (but I'm terrible with the latest), swimming and tennis. I like watching rugby and hockey but I don't practice.
Best trips for me are : walking/biking in search of hidden architecture for weekdays, sport for weekend, party for the night ! If you add multiple stops for local food you keep me happy for sure !!

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm a cinemaholic. I can go to the cinema each week and watch movies, just one after the other. Rain definitely increases my symptoms. If you want me to do something outside my bed on a rainy sunday (except a museum), don't ever give me the name of a unknown film director !
I love cartoons, disney pixar and co, it reminds me of childhood (I know the disney songs by heart, but do not repeat!) I'm only half ashamed to go (with sunglasses, long trenchcoat and huge hat), to the cinema for the new Disney with a giant popcorn each winter... and singing the leading song all spring, hating it all summer and waiting for the next one in autumn... Disney neurosis I guess
I like rock, old one. I am a big fan of Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Janis Joplin, Genesis, Johnny Cash...
After years of listening only US and english rock band, I really enjoy the current francophone music scene (from Stromae, Christine and the Queen, Aldebert, Lisa Leblanc, Les fatals picards, Emilie Simon... well, wide range of artists destroyed under my shower)
I recently discover a taste for classical music...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Cycling in the valley of the kings... in July
Completing the visit of the Louvres museum (several visits in 2 years)
Jumping from a boat in the Nile
Starting running once a week
Drilling the security of a Egyptian military zone to reach the best photo spot of Alexandria
Teach, Learn, Share
It's not very original but I can clearly teach some French bases... I'm pretty good with our locals accent, maybe I can teach you some weird one !
I'm not bad for cooking and always looking for special tips and family recipes you can't find online.
I'm currently learning lindy hop and charleston
