ABOUT ME

I was born in Romania and grew up in Germany, and for the past years I have been meandering about the world as a traveling journalist. I am passionate, curious, romantic, impatient, idealistic, maybe a little nerdy, definitely a little clumsy, extremely scared of heights, and my three big weaknesses are wine, chocolate and cheese (not necessarily in that order). I try to crack jokes in every language I speak, and sometimes it's actually funny.

I don't really have a set view on anything (except that pretty much all of my opinions are flexible). Maybe that´s why I like to talk about the "forbidden" topics (argue politics, religion, the environment, education - so just hit me!) .

Oh, I am also the world's worst singer - so if you take me to a Karaoke bar, you really do not want to put a mic in my hands!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I started on CS by hosting people, now, as I am traveling all the time I am mostly surfing. I also like to ijust meet up with other Couchsufers whenever I get the chance / have time.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My couchsurfing experience started with a simple question, I wanted to know how my roommate had met her boyfriend. Four years later, I had left my home and my job, and started exploring the world - and CS has been a great part of this journey.

Intereses

I love books and anything that has got to do with literature, theater, writing, art, and culture.

My other big passion is dancing, and I have tried a BUNCH - Flamenco, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Tango, Rock ´n´Roll, Modern Dance, even Square Dance ... I just can´t sit still if there´s good music!

I LOVE the ocean ... there is something so majestic and soothing about it and I have always been drawn to it. Recently, I have started to travel more to the mountains, and what can I say - I LOVE them, too!

I am a total language nerd, too.

I also enjoy hiking, especially going up steep hills, I enjoy trying new food and drinks. Crickets, snakes, ants, tequila with a worm in it? Bring it on!

Música, películas y libros

First off, I usually fall asleep watching movies, so it takes me about 3 or 4 times to actually watch an ENTIRE movie ... some of the movies I enjoy are: Das Leben der Anderen, Wer früher stirbt ist länger tot, Casablanca, almost all the movies by the Coen brothers, I like Tarantino too - I just wish his movies were 30 minutes shorter - , Soul Kitchen, Star Trek, Total Recall, Todo Sobre mi Madre, The Holy Mountain, Ted, the Room (which is the WORST movie EVER, plz try to watch it if you get a chance), and many many more, AND I am a total TV series junkie (even for the bad ones)!

I love pretty much any type of music from classical to death metal, I am just really bad about remembering the names of the artists or bands. Here are a couple I like: Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Johnny Cash,Chopin, Beethoven, Maria Callas, Jimmy Cliff, good old school hip hop (NWA are my heroes), Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Wu Tang Clan, Lauryn Hill, Missy Elliott, Ezio, Nizlopi, Jamie Column, Edith Piaf, Jaques Brel, The Beatles, Led Zepplin, Jimmy Hendrix, Jamie Mitchel, Joan Baez, Gwar, Thelma and the Sleaze etc. etc.

Books: Dostoevsky, Tolstoi, Gogol, Flaubert, Victor Hugo, Jane Austen, Dumas, Heine, Fontane, Thomas Mann, Charles Bukowsky, Fitzgerald, Arundhati Roy, Rohinton Mistry, Emily Dickinson, Mihai Eminescu, Erich Fried, Murakami, Hemmingway, Ibsen, and I really love fairy tales, comics and children's books!

I sang pretty loudly into a microphone that was shoved into my face at a blues bar in Memphis (so I really had no choice), and surprisingly, nobody ran away!

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I can probably teach you how to make a complete fool out of yourself on the dance floor, or how to drive stick shift. If you still have a Walkman, and it's broken, I can probably fix it. I can also show you 100 amazing things that you can do with baking soda ...
