About Me
ABOUT Marinus
In 1952 I was born in Haamstede, right under the lighthouse, as the son of the lighthousekeeper. That is where I spent my childhood and the dunes were my playground.
In 1970 I went to the Academy of Arts in Breda and I did my finals in 1975. www.marinusvandijke.nl My final project was about the influence of the wind on a length of canvas that was stretched between six posts made from fir trees, which were four meters long. This installation was placed on the beach of Haamstede. In that same year I obtained a studio in Burgh, a village next to Haamstede. It was an old school-building and that is where I lived and worked until 1982, with the exception of a year in Italy through a scholarship of the government and a period of six months in the United States of America.
Over the years I have deepened my interest in the forever changing landscape and my relationship with it, I have used more and more factual information about landscape and my concrete presence within.
PHILOSOPHY
as a part of the whole, in balance of myself and the other
ABOUT teja
In 1951 I was born in Amsterdam as the ninth in a family of 14 children. I love to look and write, I am interested in plants and anatomy, nature and art. I am a visual artist www.tejavanhoften.nl and a walker, who stands still a lot. I make my own pilgrimages with Osmand on my smartphone. In 2017 I started to walk from my home to Bedigliora in Ticino -Switserland . In Septembre 2023 I walk for the last part of my trip to Bedigliora. Along the way I am looking for people to overnight and / or to interview them about what makes them happy. Afterwards I will make a book about my trip and my encounters.
