About Me

Hello I'm Mario :)
I grew up in a very small town up in the Alps in the North East of Italy.
My friends say that I carry over an aura of calm and tranquility, I can’t say why but I hope not only because sometimes when my long hair is shaggy I could look like an Indian guru.
I’m half Italian and half Indian, but apart from the look and a few words in Urdu and Punjabi, I can’t say I’m really Indian.
I’m currently studying architecture in Trento and I live with 4 other students. I consider them almost a second family: sometimes you fight, but you always end up loving each other anyways.
I'm travelling also with the desire to find a way to fight the depopulation that my village is suffering.
I want to get to know as many communities as possible so I can understand what are the mechanisms that can keep them alive and active.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Thanks to CS I would like to find authentic experiences through living with local people.
I am fascinated by the fact that you can offer time in exchange for hospitality. It's a great way to get to know yourself also through what you are able to convey to others. I find it a nice thing to cultivate :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm not that into a particular kind of music but when I'm cleaning I like to put on Marilyn Manson's songs :P
I'm really into anime, I can stay up all night watching a good one.
I don't read many books, I like to look at the constructive details in the architecture magazines.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I suffer from vertigo and together with my friends I climbed the crest of a mountain. I still remember that while it wasn’t a technically difficult climb, I loved the mountain so much that at some point I didn’t want to separate from it. Because of the fear of hights, I sat for quite some time on top before finding the courage to get up and enjoy the view.
After that experience I feel more and more comfortable on the ridges even if I prefer to focus my eyes on my feet instead of turning and look at the void that is under me.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a quite good cook, I like to find intresting ways I can use the spare things frome the groceries. At the end I always end up making some sauce for pasta with them. There is something creative and original also in sauces.
I know also some indian recipes, but I need to ask my mother to remember some of them :P
I would like to learn how to paint, I can draw quite well but I don't know how colors work well.
I know how to cut the lawn very well with the brush cutter and chop the wood.
I can also help clean the house and make the vegetable garden.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I really like spending time talking to people about their past experiences. I mostly love cooking for others because I think it's the easiest way to share culture and maybe start a conversation on some other random topic.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, India, Ireland, Spain, United Kingdom
