About Me

Hi everyone !

I am Marion, a 19-year-old girl from France. I am doing my studies in Lille, in the north of France, but my parents are living near Paris, so I'm often between these two cities.

I have travelled a lot in 13 different countries and lived abroad 7 years (3 in Portugal and 4 in Morocco). Thanks to that, I am really open-minded and I have an iron-clad curiosity for the world and its inhabitants. I love to talk about every thing, so don't be afraid to evoke all the subjects you want !

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is an opportunity to meet locals and discover their real way-of-life.
I want to get beyond the touristic and superficial way to visit a country : I want to be immersed into it and live as a local.

When I will welcome guests, I want to give them an overview of a french (student) way-of-life. But I also really want to get to know their cultures too.

Interests

I like art : I love drawing, painting and playing music (piano). Singing too, but I'm really horrible at that, so I will stay quiet during my stay, I promise !
I like writing and reading books.

I am also in fond of nature. I love hiking, get lost in a forest, just stay in front of a landscape and be amazed by it. I like animals too.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like practically every kind of music, but I have a preference for rock, metal and reggae. My favorites bands are Muse and Bring Me the Horizon.

Sorry, but I won't be original : one of my favorite movie is Into the Wild. I also like Wild. I am generally a good audience and it is rare that I don't like a movie.

My favorite book is La Horde du Contrevent by Alain Damasio (french author, sorry, I don't know if it has been translated in other langages). I really like too la Nuit des Temps by Barjavel. I also read a lot of travel writing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am not original and I haven't done something really amazing in my life : sorry for being so boring ahah !
All things considered, I once slept 15 hours straight. What, that's not amazing ?

Okay, jokes aparts, I have done a week-end of volunteering in the migrant camp of the "Jungle" of Calais. It was a really difficult but enriching experience.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My good mood and my wonderful humour (wonderful or not, everything is relative) !
If you want I can teach you french sweet nothings (that's always useful) and insults (even more useful).
I can too share my cooking talent (limited, but I know how to make delicious yoghourt cake).
