About Me

Hey, I'm Marion, a history of arts student fond of culture (I love reading, listening to music and going to concerts and theatre, visiting art exhibitions...) but above all thoroughly interested in human being: travelling is for me a way of discovering new people's world and share knowledge, laughs and positive energy with them!
I used Couchsurfing a few times and loved it, so I'm eager to travel more meeting people of this beautiful community!
I can't host anyone for now because of my very small student apartment, but I hope it's gonna change soon enough!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is to me a beautiful way to create link between people!
I'm here to meet new people, in my place or while travelling: it permits to discover a place through a local's point of view, which is in my opinion much more interesting than just being a tourist-consumer!
I just want to share a bit of what I know or love with people, and spend a good moment together :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Authors: Nicolas Bouvier, Milan Kundera, Hermann Hesse, Marguerite Duras, Samuel Beckett, Marcel Proust, Paul Auster, Julio Cortazar, Borges, Blaise Cendrars, Baudelaire... Among many others! (it's always hard to choose among so much great literature in the world)

Movies: A clockwork orange, Last tango in Paris, Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind, Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain, Leon, Mulholland Drive, Full Metal Jacket, Harold and Maud, Pride, Wim Wender's movies, Ghibli Studio's animes...

Music: I'm really open about music genres. I could mention Sigur Ros, The XX, Alt-J, Beirut, Kakkmaddafakka, Caravan Palace, Shantel, Royksopp, Gusgus, Hilight Tribe, Tram des Balkans... But it's hard to choose something representative! I'm also very keen on Balkanic and klezmer music, electro music, African sounds..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- The very fact of smiling to a person in a street and getting a smile back is something extraordinary to me!
- Go skinny dipping in a freezing cold fjord with Norwegian friends
- Hitchhiking a car truck in Romania, not in the truck cabin but in a car transported by the truck! It was soooo much fun

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I can teach you French, what I know about arts or literature, or whatever interests you that I happen to know ;)
Learn: It would be wonderful if you could introduce me to the basics of your language, and teach me how to cook better (and how to whistle, I've always been bad at it ;) ) I am very curious about everything
Share: Food, laughs and humour, love, music, positive energy
