About Me

I am both social and very independent. I love travelling and I've experienced backpacking through Southeast Asia. But I must say that going to a country to party among foreigners is not my thing. When I travel, it's because I want to discover new people, new cultures, new habits. And I usually prefer to get up very early and enjoy the full day - of course, I also like to share a beer sometimes! ;)

I am very calm and very patient, I get passionated very easily when I start some new activity. Right now, I am trying to improve my photography and violinistic skills.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To find another way of travelling. I think traveling while meeting local people is the most precious experience one can have! I love visiting museums and so on, but it is not enough to say that one have discovered a new culture, a new country: meeting new people is the only way!

To find another way of travelling. This is what my trip in Southeast Asia taught me: Backpackers' meeting point have very limited interest. If I go to another country, it's because I want to meet local people and discover their culture. And books are seldom as precious as a proper conversation with people!

Interests

It's actually very difficult to say because I am quite curious. Let's say that, especially when I travel, I love to learn and read about recent history.
I have a passion for photography (especially portrait), for violin and for classical music, even though I like almost all styles of musics, I like reading and watching movies. And I am interested and involved in environmental issues. I am vegetarian, and I try to be as ecofriendly as I can in my everyday life - do you know how easy it is to make your own shampoo?

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I mostly like independent cinema (French, American, Spanish, Italian), but also American blockbusters. The only kind I don't like is Horror.

Music: many different kinds as well. It changes according to my mood. Right now, I am really really fond of Flavia Coelho, Djazia Satour, maybe one of the best singers I know ! I also love La Yegros (she is from Argentine), as well as small french bands (Les Ogres de Barback etc.), well-known singers such as The Beatles, etc.

Among my favorite book: La casa de los espiritus (Isabel Allende), Cien años de soledad (Gabriel Garcia Marquez), The Glass Palace (Amitav Ghosh)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Entering the wonderful world of Iguazu falls: it looks like heaven on Earth!

Learning all by myself how to drive a semi-automatic motorbike, on mountain roads, and thus, being able to admire the gorgeous limestones in North-East Laos.

Feeling like George Clooney signing autographs and overwhelmed by his fans, the day when I attended a English class in a Vietnamese primary school - most amazing CS experience!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my passion for photography (even though I am far from being a real expert), I can explain you some things about politics in France, our culture and so on.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook you some italian risotto, I can train myself to photography with you (if you have some activity etc., I can photograph you). I can also talk about many things, share travel experiences, and so on.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Cambodia, Canada, Chile, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
