HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

If it is possible in the particular moment, I will be glad to host you. If not, it will be a pleasure for me to show you my town and the most beautiful places of that. If you want, I can arrange you a small tour through Riga, but if you prefer to explore the town on you own, I can suggest you some nice cafes to stay at and give some advices about any kind of issues connected with your stay in Riga/Latvia.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had different kind of experiences and all of them have been great! I have stayed by hosts in St. Petersburg (two different places) and have been a host on my own at my place in Riga as well. I am really glad that these experiences have helped me to get to know new people closer and that we still have a good and friendly contact!

Interests

All the things that are connected with culture is my element. Films, theatre, music, books - I love to enjoy all these things. At the same time, it is often useful to take a peaceful walk through the forest or along the sea without talking therefore I like being in nature, traveling and discovering new cultures. I like to learn foreign languages because this gives you power, to have some physical activities because they make fit and I love singing because this gives the soul a chance to fly.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: classical (symphonic, opera), Latvian folk-music, bands and musicians representing different styles of music (Bjork, Sinead O'Connor, Zemfira, Tori Amos, Keane, Pet Shop Boys, Placebo, Sigur Ros etc.)

Movies: The Big Fish, Edward Scissorhands, Atonement, The Pope Joan, The Magdalene Sisters, Mouling Rouge, the old Soviet films, historical movies (Robin of Sherwood, Gladiator) etc. (it is really hard to say one favourite movie)

Books: Latvian and foreign folk-tales and fairy-tales (the biggest truth can be found there), Hans Christian Andersen, Oscar Wilde, Herbjorg Wassmo etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

All the things that I have done and seen have made me the person I am. This means that any kind of things I have been occupied with has been unique!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love learning foreing languages! I would be very interested to learn some new recipes and show you something of Latvian kitchen. And it would make me a pleasure to share my ideas and thoughts about any kind of themes you would be interested at.
