About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finding happiness even in the dreariest of days and places :)

ABOUT ME

Currently work in higher ed, doing a little bit of everything. Aspiring professor, organizer, and activist.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I had some really positive experiences with couchsurfing in Germany and I think it can be the best way to travel, meet people, and learn more about local culture. One of the most frustrating parts of traveling can be feeling like you just scraped the surface of what the place you're visiting really is. Coming from a big city where I've seen many people visit and leave without understanding what the city is really about, I want to stay with locals in the places to which I am traveling in order to get a better feel for where I am staying, what the parts of the city are that you fell in love with, where the injustices are, etc etc.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: everything from the Arctic Monkeys to Beyonce to Odesza to The Oh Hellos. Honestly if I can sing along to it, I'll learn to love it. Or if I can dance to it (I'm a conventionally terrible dancer but I love to dance anyways).

Books: Pedagogy of the Oppressed, Americanah, Gender Outlaws, Harry Potter, All About Love
I love reading but find I never have enough time to spend on it as I'd like. I'm looking to read more bell hooks, Audre Lorde, and the like.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking in the Swiss alps was by far the most breathtakingly beautiful/amazing thing I've ever done.🌌

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Happy to teach you some German language or English! Also happy to share any books I bring with me, as well as my own writing and things I have learned from my own travels.

Learn: Looking to learn Spanish and to learn about you!

What I Can Share with Hosts

The best vegan chocolate cake you'll ever have.

Countries I’ve Visited

Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Ireland, Switzerland, Turkey, United Arab Emirates
