Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Save the world... well, at least improve it...ok, part of it
ABOUT ME
I'm very curious and I try to stay utopian about the society we live in.
I am working on turning my biggest dream into reality : start a school where children/teenagers are in control of their learning.
PHILOSOPHY
Pas l'temps pour les regrets, on ne vit qu'une fois!
If you hear yourself say "I've always wanted to...", stop giving yourself excuses for not doing it and do everything you can to make it happen.
Don't imitate or you'll be late.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have hosted, been hosted and hung out...
Been to a couple of activities.
I don't use Couchsurfing as a dating website. Please, don't invite me to your house with that idea in mind.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
As a guest, I've had a few awkward experiences where hosts were cold or were hitting on me even though I had shown no interest,
As a host, I've met nice and educated people.
I'm still in touch with some CSers.
Interests
Sustainable ways of life,
Alternative education (that I actually would rather call REAL education),
Basketball,
Dance, dance, dance (Hip-hop, dancehall, West African, Afro-Brazilian, Salsa, some swing. I'd like to get better at forro and other partner dances),
Music,
Cooking (even if I'm not really good at it),
Crafts (I make earrings and other stuff from used materials),
Anything related to New Orleans,
Discussions about our society, our behaviors, religions, mostly anything and things I don't know yet!

Music, Movies, and Books
My most inspiring books:
- CRADLE TO CRADLE - Remaking the way we make things.
- "Summerhill, a radical approach to child rearing", from A.S. Neill. --> that booked totally influenced my life!!
- "Just Mercy", by Bryan Stephenson
"A Confederacy of Dunces" John Kennedy Toole. Love the sarcasm!
Movies: Le Père Noël est une Ordure, Nobody Knows, Borat, Amreeka, My cousin Vinny.
Documentaries: Wasteland, The End of Poverty? The 13th
Music: I'm pretty eclectic
The bars of New Orleans are a big part of my music library.
Trombone Shorty, Raphael Saadiq
From Jamaica: Ky-Mani Marley, Damian Marley, Tarrus Riley, Gyptian, Busy Signal, Cécile.
Good oldies: Creedence Clearwater Revival, Nina Simone, Fats Domino, Vaya con Dios, Sam Cooke,
Rodriguo y Gabriela, Pink, Mika
French stuff: Mr Roux, Keny Arkana, rap des années 90...
Dancehall, reggae, bachata, merengue, reggaeton, funk, samba.
I've even surprised myself dancing on electro on a beach in Colombia...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
O Carnaval de Salvador
Riding in my friend's car when she took the ramp the wrong way and still being good friends.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: how to dance all night without drinking alcohol...
the benefits of alternative education
Learn: I'm in the (long) process of learning how to surf (in the mountains and in the water).
Playing the drums
I love to cook but I am far from being an expert.
I wanna get better at sewing, dancing, speaking languages (I wanna learn Arabic).
There are a lot of things I'm not aware of yet that I would love to learn.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My enthusiasm, conversations and food!
