About Me

I moved to Austin, Texas two years ago from Atlanta. I'm in love with this city and enjoy sharing local hot spots with travelers! In my free time, I like to socialize with friends and backpack around the world.

I started Listen ATX to create intimate live music experiences like house concerts that support local and emerging musicians and promote community. Come to Austin and check out one of my events while you're here!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I studied abroad in Queensland, Australia in 2010. My group took a little puddle jumper plane from Harvey Bay to Lady Elliot Island in the Great Barrier Reef. It was the scariest and most amazing thing to be sitting up front in this tiny plane with the entire Great Barrier Reef below me. The water was so clear, you could see all of the coral and the fish...and the sharks too. The island is so small - probably not even a mile long. I thought the plane was going to land and skid right off the edge into the water. It was crazy being able to see how tiny the island was in comparison to the endless ocean. I had countless awe-inspiring moments while at the World Heritage Site. Probably the coolest thing I did was get up at literally the crack of dawn each morning and snorkel the Great Barrier Reef just as all ocean's creatures were waking up too. I swam along with schools of fish. Everywhere I turned was magic. Sea turtles surrounded me. At one point, I thought a shark was near me, but realized it was an enormous manta ray. I swam away from my group (don't try this at home) and followed the magestic manta ray as it glided through the Reef. I followed it for what seemed like forever until I lost sight of it. I'll never forget those snorkeling adventures.
