Overview
About Me
A university student living in Brooklyn, New York. Studying food--and planting it. At a community farm in the South Bronx.
Trying to embody what David Foster Wallace calls a Democratic Spirit: "one that combines rigor and humility, i.e., passionate conviction plus a sedulous respect for the convictions of others." And so you have to "be willing to look honestly at yourself and at your motives for believing what you believe, and to do it more or less continually." A good spirit to have, I'd say.

Music, Movies, and Books
I read--and reread--my favorite authors often. Among them: Jonathan Safran Foer, David Foster Wallace, Kurt Vonnegut, Jack Kerouac, Albert Camus, and Franz Kafka.
Some favorites when it comes to music are: Brian Eno, Wye Oak, Juliana Barwick, Angel Olsen, Julia Holter, and Sigur Rós.
And I never can seem to get enough of the films of Wes Anderson.
