About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To let life take over and see what it has in store for me
ABOUT ME
I am a Dutch International Communication and Media student (almost graduated, yay!) who lives in the beautiful city f Amsterdam. An inspiring place with lots of things to do. And although I love the Netherlands, I have to get out of here every once in a while. Just to meet new people, see the sun, make some music, get some new recipes and share a laugh. And I guess for that, they invented traveling :P There is nothing more fun and inspiring than meeting people with a totally different mindset and background. Because I think life becomes alive when you share it.
PHILOSOPHY
Whether you think you can or you can't... You're right. So the choice is yours!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I do not have a couch available at the moment but I'm attending the CS meeting in Amsterdam. And off course I would love to show you Amsterdam and/or exchange languages.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My first was on my own with New Year's Eve to Paris, where I was hosted by the super friendly and funny host Erwan. NYE for me was always a hassle; where to go, with whom, etc. So in 2010 I decided I wanted adventure, hitch hiked with some CS friends to the French capital and had an absolute blast.
From that moment many experiences followed.
Interests
I love music. Either making it, listening to it or dancing on it. It doesn't matter, as long as I have music around me I'm a happy person. I play drums myself, but haven't played for a while. Love to learn some new stuff though! I have just bought a new drum kit, but at the moment it's mostly getting dusty due to a lack of time/creative block. I'd love to learn cajon as well; such a warm sexy sound!
I recently started making poems, drawing and painting again and I love doing it!
So, I love art, fashion and architecture. I have a weakness for the beautifull things in life. Food is also one of them! I love cooking, discovering new recipes and tastes and of course eating :P However, doing the dishes hasn't grabed my attention that much yet ;)

Music, Movies, and Books
From Lauren Hill to Mumford and Sons, from Seasick Steve to Orishas and from soca to rock 'n roll... I love so many types of music and there's always one to fit my mood. I recently really got into spanish music. Just because I love the sound, but it is also good for my language skills.
As far as books, the last I read were Eat, Pray, Love from Elisabeth Gilbert and Australia on Bare Feet. I am also a big fan of art and cookbooks though, especially if they contain beautiful illustrations or pictures.
My favorite movies are The Last King of Scotland and Requiem for a Dream. But I also love chick flicks like P.S. I love you.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Defenitely the nights in Rome, good memories! The milkyway on the west coast of Australia, the Vondelpark I wake up to every morning, the surroundings o my mom's house in Spain.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'd love to learn to fully master percussion, would like to improve my Spanish, spend time meditating, learn more life lessons, new recipes, and probably much more cause you're never done learning.
