About Me

CURRENT MISSION

No current mission, we just enjoy life, day after day - that's a good program, isn't it?

ABOUT ME

Etienne is a terrible child, this must be why I married him !!! We both left Parisian area because we longed for real life, far from the city...
But before settling down, we went to Latin America... At first, we were supposed to travel 1 year - but in fact, we spent 6 full months in Mexico! It must be that we liked this country and its people...
The latest project is Polynesia, 6 months from Mid-november 2010 to Mid-May 2011.
It think we are not on a hurry to settle down...

Interests

Meeting people, learning things and different cultures; cooking (pastry is Etienne's part and I prefer cooking salty meals); reading; etc. etc. - in fact, as long as we share with people, we are sure we learn a lot !

Music, Movies, and Books

Etienne is not a book eater but I read for 2! Amongst my favorite books are Jane Austen's works; I re-read something like once a year Henri Bosco's Mas Théotime, Tsuji Hitonari's White Buddha - I loved Rohinton Mistry's A Fine Balance and Family Matters; David Payne's Ruin Creek and Gravesend light; Salman Rushdie's books like The Ground Beneath Her Feet. Also I enjoyed reading Twilight or Eragon; Philip Pullman's books... Recently I "ate" the comics Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi and a biography of Virginia Woolf. Well... Everything I can reach and that may look like a book / review interest me.

As for the movies, we like Myazaki's films, especially Nausicaa. Our tastes meet on this point. After that, Etienne and I have very different tastes :-)

Music is also a matter of animated discussion between the 2 of us. We meet on French music with Edith Piaf, Georges Brassens, Jeanne Moreau, Serge Reggiani, Maxime Leforestier (it's kind of oldies for France)... And I am a nightmare for Etienne, especially with David Bowie, CCR, the Rolling Stones, the Eagles and all the good stuff from the 70's ;-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Diving under a landing stage in Brittany, France. The most improbable place to see such an abundant water life (despite cold water and strong current - brrrrr)

More recently, we went on Itza volcano close to Puebla, Mexico. We went up to 5000m, this was hard physically, hard to breathe but nature was so peaceful!

And even more recently, we went to Ciudad Perdida, in Colombia. 6 days walking with incredible landscapes. It was very rewarding

... and even more recently, we spent a WE by some friends who breed cows. We woke up at 5:30 to milk them, that was fun and for me, little town girl, it was just real life :-)

Teach, Learn, Share

Etienne is a very good manual worker. He can advise you about all these stuff from car to wallpaper, plumbing, electricity... He is also good diver and fond of undersea life / biology. He is very good in cooking. I am sure you will always find a good fellow in him for jokes and play on words.
From my side, I am quite good at cooking --- what else? I am always interested in cultural matters (from fashion to philosophy - you see, it's wide!). I guess Etienne should complete this part about me...

We would like to learn cooking from other countries, dancing, litterature, culture... simply share with others !
