Overview
About Me
I'm originally from Texas, USA and have been living in Ukraine as an English teacher for the past 3 years. Before I moved to Ukraine, I was never able to travel very much because of logistical challenges. However, love to travel and I'm so incredibly happy that I was able to get the opportunity to not only travel to Ukraine, but actually live here. It still feels like a dream sometimes.
I love learning about new cultures and talking to new people; please, let's share stories over a cup of tea or glass of beer/wine!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
First of all, I love meeting new people! I initially come off as very shy, but people tell me that once they get to know me, I'm very sociable. For me, traveling isn't about seeing all of the tourist spots or following an itinerary, but just about enjoying my trip and going along with the journey. You could say that I am the kind of person who enjoys train rides, just as much as I enjoy the destination. :)
I would love to host one day, but I am currently unavailable to host guests. However, as soon as I have my own place again, I will absolutely open my home to anyone!
Interests
In the US, I used to work in museums, so I love not only visiting museums, but also going to gallery shows and art events. I also love going to shows; I used to live in a city where there were always live bands playing. Most of my friends are either artists are musicians and I also really loved going to house shows a lot of the time! Although I'm not an artist or musician myself, I would say that it is a big part of my passion and love.
I also write poetry and love going to poetry readings.
