About Me

What can I say about me? European moved to DC metro area on a Fulbright Scholarship, studying and researching at GWU. I'm laid-back, (hopefully) interesting, open-minded, and a bit (more) geeky and way too idealist sometimes.

I love to read (especially non-fiction but Asimov's works are always on my list), to travel, watch American tv series, and listen to good music (especially jazz, bossa nova et. al.). I also love to meet people with diverse backgrounds that have interesting and insightful life stories and a sense of purpose in life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing mostly to meet interesting people with common hobbies but different backgrounds, which are charming and able to feel great together.

Also, as a person that loves to travel around the world (especially North America, these days) and meet new people, I'll look forward to finding a couch for a day or two wherever I may find myself in the near future.

Music, Movies, and Books

I've recently reread Karl Popper's 'The Open Society and its Enemies' and decided that has become one of my favorite books. I also like 'The Conscience of a Liberal' by Paul Krugman and the recently discovered Malcolm Gladwell's 'David and Goliath', which I simply love. I am also a fan of Isac Asimov's works, especially the Foundation series).

I love Sci-Fi movies and TV series (e.g. Star Trek, Star Gate SG1, Battlestar Galactica et. al.), historical and biographical films and documentaries and political productions like House of Cards and Designated Survivor.

Teach, Learn, Share

I hope I can share my stories about my past travels and explorations of our beautiful European continent, with its distinctiveness and diverse people.

Also, if there is any interest, I can share and teach about philosophy, International Relations, metatheory or international economy. Also, I love to teach my native Romanian language. :)
