About Me

Before I write a novel about myself, here a little update on my current Couchsurfing situation:

Although I don't work at the moment, I'm usually very busy with university these days - but that doesn’t pose a problem for hosting. If I have to much work though or people already staying at my place I unfortunately won't be able, as the place I have at the moment is not that big (flats in Paris are generally small haha). I‘ll happily try to host everyone who writes me a sincere message if I can! -which means: somehow personalised, my name should be included at least. I'm receiving a lot of requests and most of them are just copy-pastes. Also note that my place is a safe space for all genders, races, sexualities etc - and all are welcome. I probably won't host you if you're politically right-wing or smth like this tho. Also note that I just moved into my new place, so I still haven't completely finished unpacking stuff and sometimes it's a bit messy haha.
Looking forward to meet you and to give back some of the incredible hospitality I received during my travels.

Now a few things about me (actually lots of things) :
I’m a half French half German student of political science and sociology, currently in 5th semester. My biggest passions are travelling and cinema, especially political and foreign (not English language) films (I also made a lot of films myself). I'm extremely interested in art, politics, society, economy and chess - if you start talking about one of these topics, we will probably end up talking for hours, haha. Furthermore I love techno, I DJ myself with Vinyl Disques (quite hard!) and I know the techno scene of the city quite well. One day of the weekend (it used to be more haha), I usually go raving and know where the best parties are happening. So if you're into that, you should definitely write me a message. Paris is absolutely crazy.
From 2019 until 2021, for 2.5 years, I made a huge non-stop hitchhiking journey. It took me from Germany to India by land, crossing through Russia, Iran and Pakistan. After staying then for one year and one month in India and getting to know the country extremely well, I originally wanted to continue hitchhiking towards South-East Asia. But because of Corona, I had to cancel these planes, so I took a flight back to the Middle East, where I continued hitchhiking through Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Turkey, etc. It definitely was the journey of my life so far, and I experienced many crazy and beautiful things. As you can imagine, I am super open-minded, easy-going and nothing can really shock me. Most people would agree that I’m fun and interested in absolutely everything.
Some other things.. I play the guitar, I am vegetarian but try to eat vegan most of the time, I definitely support free love thoughts and polyamorous relationships and I love meditation. Politically, I would describe myself as a libertarian socialist / anarchosyndicalist - I read quite a few books about anarchism and I'm very much into it. Also I am addicted to this south american tea, Mate. In Germany you find it a lot in supermarkets, in France it's not that common.

But if I had to choose one experience, a lifechanging one, I would choose the New Year's Eve 2017/2018. It was one of my first big journeys and probably the first time I realized how much I love traveling.
Normally, the 31. of december, I'm always a bit sad. I don't really know why, it just isn't my favourite day. But that year, I spent it in Trinidad in Cuba, and it turned out to be one of the most beautiful nights of my life. First, I was alone, and I didn't know how to spent the evening. I also didn't want to sleep, because it was New Year's Eve and I was only for two day in Trinidad!
Fortunately, in my "casa particular" (sort of cuban hostels) stayed three german students, we talked a lot and they invited me to come with them, they wanted to meet to french girls later, and it was a nice coincidence that I speak french fluently. So, we met the two girls, also very kind persons, and then, we met another couple from France, then another one from hamburg in Germany, and we went eating a great Cuban dinner all together. Later in the evening, we were a big group of ca. 13-15 persons, from many different countries (Denmark, Sweden, Mexico, France, Germany, Switzerland...), from 18 to 60 years old, interesting and intelligent people with amazing stories, who all never met before. But we were all celebrating this beautiful evening, having fun, talking a lot, and there was an incredible harmony. When I got back to my hostel, it was almost 6 o'clock in the morning, and I spent the best New Year's Eve of my entire life. This experience showed me what traveling really means, this awesome feeling of meeting new people and of living in such a manifold, beautiful world.
