ABOUT ME
i'm really enjoying being young and optimistic and in love with everything. i'm in no rush to grow up.
i'm traveling with my friend eddy, he's super great too.
PHILOSOPHY
there's an awful lot of world to see. there's an awful lot of people to meet.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
right now, i'm looking to surf. i'm attempting to move to austin, tx in the fall, so i really want to see the city and community, as well as get a feel for the wonderful caliber of people who inhabit this place.
also, i go to a lot of music festivals and it would be pretty gnar not to have to pay for hotel rooms as much as i do.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
(if you can call sleeping in different states on my friends' couches instead of in my own bed couchsurfing then) i couchsurf every weekend. but this is the first time i'm attempting to do it through an organization.
in october, i flew down to florida for fest without any plan for accommodations. ran into someone i had met at a party two weekends prior and slept on his friends' floor for three days. last month, i stayed on several separate couches in boston for two weeks because my friends' bands kept deciding to come into town and play surprise basement shows.
Interests
i enjoy sitting on people's roofs, drinking green tea, playing with kittens, absentmindedly tearing the label off of the bottle, listening to music in people's basements/living rooms/warehouse spaces, playing board games, writing letters to pen pals (disclaimer: i am a GREAT pen pal), and getting stick and poke tattoos.

Music, Movies, and Books
just a small sampling.
movies: this is england, the blob (1988), peter pan, the empire strikes back, lost in translation, ghostbusters.
books: i love poetry, so absolutely anything by walt whitman, stanley kunitz, pablo neruda, garcia lorca, and charles bukowski. another roadside attraction/still life with woodpecker by tom robbins, the thief's journal by jean genet, jonathan livingston seagull by richard bach, and norwegian wood by haruki murakami.
music: nana grizol, algernon cadwallader, bad banana, titus andronicus, fat history month, black lips, johnny hobo & the freight trains/wingnut dishwasher's union.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
last summer my best friend and i finally gave in to our "into the wild" delusions and went on a two-week long hiking and camping trip to wrangell-st. elias national park in alaska. it was unbelievable. we channeled timothy treadwell by adoring the bears (so. many. bears.) and befriending foxes, but we made it back in one piece.
Teach, Learn, Share
i could teach you to build a table from lumber if you could teach me how to ride a bicycle (a lesson long overdue). i'll teach you about any place i've ever been or seen if you teach me about your town and the people within it. i'll teach you some silly phrases in russian if you teach me where the vegan pizzeria is. then we could share some vegan pizza.
