ABOUT ME

I'm still learning as I go along, but here's what I've figured out so far: I love meeting people, listening to their stories and having conversations that feel like they matter. I'm always up for a party, but I enjoy hanging out on the couch just as much. I'm definitely more of a night than a morning person. I don't get why certain things are the way they are simply because that's how they've always been. I don't think routine brings out the best in people, so I welcome crazy adventures. I'm a vegetarian, but not militantly so. I tend to see everyone's side and think in grays rather than absolutes.

I like science, but I love art. I spend a lot of time around books. I always carry a pen. I have an insane love for the English language without really understanding why. I also like good television, great movies and all kinds of music, though anything vaguely indie-sounding tends to get more instantly liked.

I love to travel, experience different cultures, meet new people and have epic conversations over drinks. So I'm taking a break from everything else at the moment to do more of that.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm going to be traveling around the eastern US from the end of June 'til the end of September and I'd love to surf some couches while I'm there. I'd like to get past the feeling of being a disconnected tourist and experience the places I visit more genuinely. And meet some great people, of course!

In return, I can tell you all about the crazy little country of Belgium, teach you how to curse in Dutch, cook up a vegetarian meal and discuss the psychology of Fight Club over drinks.

I've been to a few meetings in Belgium, but I haven't surfed any couches. Yet!
