About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Taste, touch, and experience!!!

ABOUT ME

I'm easy going with a sense of humor. I value good friends, a good cup of coffee, and great conversation. I'm loyal, and trustworthy and simply love to have a great time. FUN is what life is about you live it once....go out and enjoy it.

PHILOSOPHY

Taste, touch and participate. Be curious about the world around you and don't abandon your childish need for exploration and answers. Turn fears into goals. Let the directions of your life inspire you to do more. Value each person that comes into your life, learn from them, listen to what they say, hold onto the bond as long as you both need, but accept that everyone that enters into your life is meant to be there, but sometimes they are meant to be there only for that moment.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I spread the word with enthusiasm and energy!!! I've just entered the CS world, but I have had friends that have been apart of it for a while and that inspired me to really get involved and become apart of what CS is!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

This is my first official couchsurfing journey, but I have had instances with a similar concept. Stayed in a house for about 3 days and slept on the floor, it was cold and hard -- it was great. We were given a roof, a bathroom, a place to make food. I was so grateful that someone would allow my friends and I to stay and "make ourselves at home." Just knowing that there are people in the world willing to host and welcome strangers into their home and treat them like old friends showed me that I wanted to be a part of that community.

Interests

TRAVEL (easy answer, right)! Cultural anything and everything. Music, books, art, food and cooking, photography, wine, spiritual growth, religion around the world, movies, fashion, community health (local and internationally), and self discovery!

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite movies are COMEDIES! Anything that can make me laugh out loud and i'm hooked, but yes, i also like chick flicks. But, I can't stop there. ACTION films are great, especially the old school ones. I really could go on and on and on. I really base most entertainment, movies, music, even books on how i'm feeling, what i'm in the mood for, ya know?
As for music, I love listening to where my heart and soul guides me. Number one always is Ella Fitz and Louie Armstrong. There is just something about their voices....I currently have in my car right now, Imogen Heap, T.I, Lily Allen, Common Market, Garden State soundtrack, and Rihanna. All over the place, but that's how I am about music. I view music as a very personal thing and it can tell you a lot about a person :)
I'm finishing up Sidney Poitier, A spiritual autobiography, about to start The World is Flat. My book taste changes and really I don't know if I have a particular genre I prefer. It's really if the writing can capture my attention, and keep me intrigued. I like books that offer learning, whether it helps with my own self exploration or I simply gain a growth in knowledge about a particular topic. But not always, sometimes it's nice to read to books that don't always require a lot of detail and just intrigue you because of its humor and style.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most amazing things I've done so far, i'm only just beginning, was camping and hiking around Maui. It was my first real expeerience in the wildreness of a totally different climate. It's not a "foreign" land and yes, Maui is a vacation spot, but when you get away from the touristy things and really take the time to get to know the land, but sleeping on it, and being apart of what's going on, it changes your views entirely.

Teach, Learn, Share

Culture shock is all around us. Take it in, breathe, and then get to know it!!!!! It usually isn't that shocking once you take a step back and really soak it all up. I'd like to learn more about the country I live in. I want to travel internationally "to see the world" but the world is also in my own backyard. That's next!

Countries I’ve Visited

Cambodia, Canada, Costa Rica, France, Germany, Italy, Laos, Mexico, Spain, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States, Viet Nam
