About Me

I'm French and have been living in northern England for almost 4 years now. So I'm almost a Geordie since I get to mix both culture French/English.
I still moan a lot but now I can do it while smiling! (I still don't eat beans on toast for breakfast).

I love to walk and cycle. I try to run too but I always prefer coming back from a run than going out for a run. That should say a lot.

I'm not really into nightlife. I prefer a quite evening at the pub (sometimes even knitting!) than the party life (shame when you leave next to Newcastle).

I love animals (dog>cats even if cats are nice too) so I became vegetarian recently.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I had my first CS experience in Malta with an experiment CS host. It was pretty great! I did it again in London, then Edinburgh and Amsterdam.

For me it's to get a different experience of the place I go. You can visit as a tourist but only people living here will give you the best tips and their feelings about the place.

Interests

Nature and outdoor activities mostly. Even a simple walk into beautiful Northumberland makes it.
I also give interests to knitting and crochet.
(it looks like I'm a 65 yo retired granny).

Music, Movies, and Books

I love a french author called Jean-Christophe Grangé. He writes good thrillers, with a lot of imagination and good twists.
But since I'm starting to read full novels in English, I went for more simplistic things like the Girls on the train. Like the idea of that creepy woman playing peeping-tom.

My favourite film is Broackback Mountain. It's just a beautiful story. I actually watched in only twice as it makes me so emotional for days after.
I like Andrew Niccol's film: The Truman Show, Gattaca, In time... That left you thinking.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

For my own pride, I'd say "moving to England". It has been a big challenge. But that's old now.

Lately I took a yearly membership to the Wetlands - a network of birds reserve across UK. I'm not into birds but it's so relaxing to be in such a place. And I get to know them, and I really appreciate to feed the swans ;)

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd like to learn piano. I wish someone could teach me in 3 days...
