ABOUT ME

I'm a fun girl to be around and I love to tell you all about my country. I can really enjoy a good movie or good book. I'm addicted to traveling and music! I just moved back from the USA where I worked as an au-pair in Philadelphia where I took care of 2 kids and the year before that I lived in Chicago where I took care of 3 kids. I love(d) it! It's a great opportunity to get to know other cultures and I was able to travel in my weekends at the same time! I met my boyfriend in the USA and we have a daughter together. Her name is Emma and she's 1 year old. She is the cutest little girl and she loves car rides.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've met so many great friends and other people through traveling all over the world. Couchsurfing is a great opportunity to meet nice people from different backgrounds and cultures and share your thoughts and culture with them. Last december we hosted a girl from Malaysia through an exchange program. She stayed with us for 2 weeks. It was an amazing experience and to be able to pay it forward by hosting her (I've participated in the exchange program myself in the year before). I think couchsurfing is pretty much the same experience :)

Interests

I really like to travel, to cook, see movies, read, music and to go to concerts. My favorite city in Europe is definitely London! Furthermore I love gardening (I have my own vegetable garden back home in Holland) and play music.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is one of the most important things in my life. It cheers me up when I'm feeling down and it has played a huge part in my life. I've played drums for over 8 years and I grew up in a very musical family.

I love love love Jane Austens Pride & Prejudice. Probably seen it around a 1000 times already haha.

I'm addicted to watching tv series. Here's a list with some of them that I follow: The Walking Dead, Grey's Anatomy, The Originals, The Vampie Diaries, Game of Thrones, Girls, Grimm, True Blood, The Big Bang Theory, Sleepy Hollow, Awkward etc....

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A couple years back I traveled western Europe by train. Almost saw every country which was amazing. I also traveled through Australia and Indonesia. I've lived in England for a couple of months during an internship and I lived in the USA where I worked as an au-pair and traveled to 38 states in my free time!
