I am a recent college graduate (2 years ago I guess) that studied chemistry and soil science in Wisconsin, USA at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. I'm currently living in Bangor, Maine, USA with my girlfriend. We have a house rabbit named Umbra and she is a very sweet little girl.

My hobbies range from listening/playing music, attending concerts, cooking all kinds of food, reading both comic books (pretty new to that) and books, hiking, backpacking, camping, gardening, cycling, foraging and beach combing (for rocks and sea glass). I find myself comfortable in both densely populated areas as well as more remote settings.

An ideal weekend for me could either be spent on a trail with everything I need carried on with me, an excursion to coastal Maine (specifically Downeast Maine), going somewhere and seeing a show, or it's spent at home cooking food, going to the farmers market, and relaxing.

I find it important to try and support local businesses in the community as much as I can. Additionally, I find it important to try and eat local/seasonal foods as much as possible. Working in a diverse vegetable farm in the past really exposed me to how important local food and small businesses are.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on couch surfing primaryily as a way to try and find cheap housing while out and about. I do also love getting to talk and meet new people so that is definitely an added bonus.

As of right now my travels have been limited to within the United States but I hope to change that in the near future and plan to potentially use this to try and immerse myself in the area I'm travelling. I especially would love to share meals with people and cook with people because food can be such a wonderful way to connect.
