I am a considerate & thoughtful person with acute empathy. Sensible on the inside and silly on the outside (sort of the opposite of politicians). Love travelling, music, comedy and I can happily enjoy either tranquility or excitement. I have slept in every kind of place from a 'five minute bivouac' in the raining highlands of Scotland to a luxury hotel in the tropics. So although I'm not fussy, I never turn down grandeur either :) I have friends in many countries over decades and and we still visit most years, here or there. I am an occasional film maker and struggling writer (mainly of music & comedy), more recently getting into acting which involves sometimes taking the odd job as a film extra (supporting artiste) when the auditions are less abundant.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

All the usual reasons for joining and a recommendation from an avid member but the thing that got me to sign up today is my part-time acting venture - because sometimes I have to turn down auditions for roles when they are too far away from home. The train fare can sometimes be more than a B&B. The TV or film production don't pay actors to attend auditions. Also sometimes I'm offered a minor role and can't accept when the pay is too low but if I'm couch surfing then hopefully I can. Plus it will help grow my acting CV and I will get to know more cool people which is great.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

My story is not THAT amazing, but it amazed me at the time. I was put into a situation which forced me to take a train company and the police to court without any lawyer and no legal representation - yet successfully won a 2 week civil jury trial, conducting my own cross examinations and beating the two barristers and their legal teams, got a unanimous verdict from the jury, won compensation, changed out of my suit, got a mohawk and grafittied a ripped T-shirt that said "I fought the law and I won", borrowed a van and drove straight to Glastonbury with a mate and as I walked towards the pyramid stage, David Bowie had just started singing Wild Is The Wind. Result :)
