About Me

I bave been around the block a bit and enjoy traveling, especially to places where I can ride horses (and even better, play or teach polo)! My father's profession required him to move quite often so I really grew up in about 14 different places including Germany but I spent 4 years in Andover between 14 and 18 years of age. I spent 20 years working for the government that included being a History professor and a diplomatic posting to our Embassy in Germany. After working there, I've done a lot of different things such as managed a French owned medical device company's subsidiary in the US, supervised linguists in several countries including Germany, worked on projects in robotics, biometrics, aviation and unmanned aerial systems as well as business development, strategic communications, high-tech scouting and rehabilitation projects. (I've worn so many hats that I'm bald now!) I now have settled down mainly in Virginia to run a polo club but still travel a fair amount organizing polo matches for the US Polo Association.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I travel internationally and throughout the United States mainly organizing polo matches for the US Polo Association, most recently in Great Britain, Mexico, Florida and Massachusetts. I enjoy meeting new people wherever I go and think that it might be fun trying out the Couch Surfing community.
