Overview
About Me
I'm in my early 30's living with my partner, Frances. I've spent more time studying than is good for me, spent a few years in the army, and am now sorting out a final OE prior to starting real life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've got a fairly big flat here that's just being emptied out, and seemed a shame to waste the space when tourist season is just heating up here.
I seem to keep giving directions to middle-aged German couples who look lost around the city, figured I oughta take the next step.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like a lot of music, classic rock, metal, synthwave, jazz, various types of electronica, anything but dubstep basically.
I'm still on a high from the new Mad Max movie, and the missus hasn't seen a. whole bunch of the 80's action classics I love if you wanted a night in.
I try to pretend to be literary while mainly defaulting to classic sci-fi. I read a lot of a blog called slatestarcodex.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Went on a trip around northern India 5 years ago that included taking a motorbike over "the world's highest motorable pass," at about 5300m.
Teach, Learn, Share
I know my way around Auckland, can give plenty of advice on West Coast beaches and so on and especially advice on where you need to go (and where you can skip) when you head down to the south island!
The missus can give you plenty of advice on the dining scene around here as well.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I've got a couple of bicycles you could borrow.
