Overview
About Me
I am a Teacher of English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), currently working in Slovak and Czech Republics, I travel to a new town every week to teach at different schools, usually arriving on a Friday evening and departing on a Friday after school finishes. I am more than happy to trade English Lessons and Help for my accommodation(s), I am an energetic, enthusiastic, and hard working person. I love traveling, meeting new people and socializing.. as well as learning new cultures. I'm an easy going, easy to get along with, social person, who loves having a good time but also a very motivated person with a very high work drive. I have travelled widely across the globe, and have lived in The United States, (California, Hawaii, North Carolina, Kentucky, Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia - If I haven't lived there my job has probably taken me there) I have also lived in Japan for 5 years. I have traveled widely in the Pacific region; South Korea, Okinawa (Ryukyu Islands), Mainland Japan, Philippines, Wake, Midway, Guam, Tinian, Saipan and many more.
Interested in teaching/helping with the English Language (I have lived in the UK and the US so my spoken english is a mix of both), would also like to learn a language.
I am a Former Military Guy (Marine) with over 22 years of military experience, (if that counts for anything, except for making me "old"). I Love to travel, (Plane and Rail are my absolute favorites). I have an extremely diverse set of skills, willing to try most things, most people say that I am a good cook, I am also a decent Handyman, (Can use a wide variety of power and hand tools, decent framing carpenter, not so good at finish carpentry however), Good computer skills.
As a child, the family traveled all over Europe, (Camping) so I'm not afraid of roughing it. My newest travels have taken me mainly to Eastern/Central Europe, (I particularly enjoy visiting the countries that were for so long part of the "Soviet Bloc") So Bulgaria, Czech, Hungary, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Moldova the list keeps growing, as does my list of friends across the world.
Not sure what else to say, so if you want to know more all you have to do is ask. Animal and Pet-Friendly here. I am not afraid of rough living where necessary - Spent many a night on the floor/ground with a sleeping bag.
I am very interested in traveling to Russia as well, but the whole visa process there seems more than a little intimidating, (probably because we do the same thing to them), so if anyone has any tips I would appreciate them.
