About Me

It’s hard to talk about myself because I’m way more interested in other people.. but I feel like many lives put into one. I like to be active and healthy and I naturally gravitate towards the outdoors. Hiking and road trips are my calling, but I also like craft beer, nightlife, and spending time with my friends, both old and new. I can appreciate fine art, meditation, a good book, and I love music. I’m a total yes-man; willing to do just about anything at least once, be it jumping from a plane, going on a spontaneous journey, or trying some strange dish. I have a long history of martial arts practice, but I’ve recently been exploring calisthenics, yoga, and mindfulness meditation. I'm easy going, open minded, and always up for a good time and an adventure. Cheers 🍻

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I absolutely love the sense of community that naturally develops amongst fellow travelers chasing adventure and exploring new cultures. Couchsurfing provides an exciting and effective way to bring that community even closer, both abroad and at home.

Interests

Sports, art, and travel. New experiences and anything that'll make a good story; and of course learning! From people, books, and experiences. I think that we should get a little better and more complete with each passing day ✌️

Music, Movies, and Books

I play the drums and would someday love to learn the piano. I believe every genre of music has something good to offer, but I mostly listen to and play alternative rock. I like movies that demand to be watched and make you think afterwards, particularly psychological thrillers. The books I read vary drastically and I like to switch genres frequently; I’m a big fan of “The Lord of the Rings” and the writings of James Michener. I’m currently reading “The Silmarillion” by Tolkien.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ran with the bulls in Pamplona!

Teach, Learn, Share

I taught martial arts for over a decade 🥋, I have a masters degree in geology 👨‍🎓and I used to be a craft bartender 🍸
Let’s discuss travel, science, and philosophy! I can show you some fun martial arts techniques and could use some work in my practice of yoga and meditation. I would love to make you some yummy drinks and learn more about foreign cocktails, or just share a few beers 🍻

What I Can Share with Hosts

Whatever helps, really. I pack light and I'm always willing to chip in, whether that means help with dinner, cleaning up, or anything else. Of course I’d love to exchange stories, experiences, and perspectives with those who are interested.
