Overview
About Me
I'm very good natured, easy going and easy to talk to. I'm very open minded, and not easily offended ... so feel free to ask questions and speak your mind. I'm extremely flexible, so don't be shy about telling me your interests and preferences. I'm eager to hear about you, your thoughts and your adventures.
I love to travel, see new places and meet new people. I've travelled extensively in the US all my life. I've done some international travel, and would like to do more.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I thought it would be a fun way to meet some interesting people, as well is get ideas for new places to travel and new things to try.
I'm also looking forward to meeting other travelers and hosts during my many adventures.
I'm currently taking a break from hosting.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like a wide range of music types and ethnicities. From classic rock to Celtic, African rhythms to Native American. I only listen to music when I'm hiking/walking or in my car. My home is quite.
Most of my "reading" is YouTube educational videos ... I'm addicted :-)
Its really weird, but I only tend to do much "traditional" reading when I'm travelling. I really enjoy reading some of the old classics like Mark Twain, Charles Dickens, Jack London. I'm also a big fan of Clive Cussler adventure novels. Overall, I tend to read a lot more non-fiction ... I'm always trying to learn new things.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spent 3 months traveling across Canada in my motorhome. I visited cities, provincial parks and met the friendly Canadian people along the way. My trip included researching many of my Canadian ancestors and visiting a dozen home towns of my ancestors. This included visiting the home town of my great-great-great-great grand parents in River John, Nova Scotia, Canada.
I once went for a hike .... by myself ... at night ... cross country without a trail ... in the Australian outback :-)
Teach, Learn, Share
If you contact me a few days before you arrive, I can give you recommendations on places to go and things to see before arriving in Santa Barbara.
I'm an excellent life coach. I love to learn new things, so we'll always have interesting topics to talk about.
