I'm a Music Technology student in Leeds looking to meet new people from around the world and travel as much as possible :) My favourite things to do are smile, cycle, play drums/guitar, go see live music, meet cool new people from cool new places, climb trees, cook/eat food, and spend time outside in good weather :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I heard about it from some friends, and I've been totally blown away by the kindness and generosity of everyone I met on this website! All my hosts were so eager to help me in as many ways as possible, and every couch came with a free tour of their city/town (including all the cool hidden parts I wouldn't see if I was staying in a hostel), sometimes a breakfast or a beer, and most importantly a friend or group of friends for me to hang out with during my stay who would go out of their way to make sure I had the best possible time with them, for nothing in return! This way of travel, the level of trust it involves, and the friendships it creates is so unique and special, and this website has been the start of a lot of my favourite memories :)

So I want to give back and host some people in this awesome city while I'm still a student here! Meeting travellers is always fun & I think I can show you a good time in Leeds if you wanna hang out/go out :) I live in a shared student house with 2 other students a 30 minute walk from the centre, and I know where to find all the best live music :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I love a huuuge variety of music, I can never find enough time to listen to everything! I love hearing what other people listen to, and really enjoy sharing music with people - meeting someone who is super passionate about really awesome music that I've never heard before is the best! I'm particularly interested in loads of different types of rock and jazz music, but I also love hip-hop, many types of electronic music, folk etc etc...but I want to hear what YOU listen to! :)

I love funny TV shows, Peep Show, Bottom, Limmy's Show, Eric Andre show, stupid cartoons like South Park/Rick & Morty/The Big Lez Show. Documentaries are great too, anything by David Attenborough/Louie Theroux/Brian Cox! Some of my favourite movies are Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Lobster, Stranger Than Fiction and Birdman

I wish I had the time to read more books, some that I really enjoyed over the years have been Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, Freakonomics, The Psychopath Test, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time and Think by Simon Blackburn

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My band played with my favourite band Three Trapped Tigers (and I played my hero's drum kit!)
I've hitchhiked 2000+km so far in 2 short solo trips around different parts of Europe, on my 1st trip I went to 11 cities in 5 countries, spent €0 on accomodation (because of this incredible website!) and hitchhiked for most of it, I got 3 inter-city buses

Teach, Learn, Share

If I meet you I'll be happy to teach you some guitar and/or drums if you want, and I'd love to learn some foreign languages in return!

I have the most amazing part-time job as a personal assistant for a young autistic man with a serious heart condition, where I help to integrate him into society so that he can live more independently and do things he wants to do by himself :) doing this has taught me to be patient & accepting of people, and I have many great stories from this job :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my time, my happiness, my stories, my alcohol, my knowledge, my perspective on the world, and I'll even lend you my socks if yours get holes in them or something :) I'll happily help keep your house tidy and I'll never leave a mess anywhere! I dunno, this one's hard to fill in, I just want to meet cool new people, go to cool new places, and I'll share anything you want me to share if you do decide to host me! Let's have fun! :)
