About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My mission is to help restore faith in people one couch at a time.
ABOUT ME
Hi there! Hmm...I think my best friends would say I'm a laid back, funny, easy to get along with type of person. I may be the only person in D.C. who is not interested in accumulating wealth and power (ok, I know there are more).
PHILOSOPHY
Go where you are wanted.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Right now I am building my profile and I am excited to try hoisting some visitors this summer here in DC.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
For Euro2012 my friend and I travelled through Poland and Ukraine. In Poland we stayed with three separate Hosts and each host was so generous and welcoming that it motivated me to become a host myself.
In Zakopane our hosts Justyna and Kuba were just amazing, taking us out for an unforgettable night at a small pub to watch the soccer and then for a hike in the mountains the next morning.
Now that I have hosted a few times...I think CS is really revolutionary...what an awesome way to meet people and build real understanding. (And just have fun too.)
Interests
I love to walk around this city and observe. DC is a great place to be able to see how the world's most powerful interact with the everyday person, like when I see members of Congress at the local grocery store. It's so weird it has to be interesting. In DC I am a big runner and I have run all over this town, it's a great place to run. DC United is our soccer team and I am a dedicated fan going to every home match at old RFK stadium, yes there is professional soccer in the U.S! Films, occasional theatre, concerts, hiking, coffee shops, riding my bicycle, you get the idea.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music really changed my life when I was a student, the early Industrial music by groups like Throbbing Gristle and Ambient music of Brian Eno was so unlike the bland suburbs I was growing up in. Punk music, live shows, all of that helped me become a much more enlightened person.
Russian literature really blows my mind, Anna Karenina, Crime and Punishment, Brothers Karamazov...these all kept my attention for weeks as I read them.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Wow this is a big question. Honestly, every morning when I bicycle in to my work I am amazed to see the Washington Monument, the White House, and the other important institutions here in DC, I still can't believe I'm here.
I really knew life would never be the same when I travelled to Poland for the first time in 1991, I had never left the U.S. and I just could not believe all this activity was going on half way around the world. It changed my whole perspective on life.
