ABOUT ME

People close to me would say I'm friendly, very engaging, a bit of a joker, very daughter-oriented, opinionated but enjoy trying on various perspectives and points of view, trustworthy, politically aware, highly social, physically very active, passionate about ideas, creative, goal-oriented, informal, fun-loving, flirtatious, outrageous, subtle, lovingly ironic and tentatively pretty happy with life (except for the "planet falling apart" part).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

How to get to my place:
You can take any metro headed East from the centre. Get off at Herttoniemi Station and then catch bus #80 or # 82 about 7 minutes to Roihuvuori (my neighborhood). My place is the most yellow apartment building (Vuorenpeikontie 3B 135) just behind the small square with the two supermarkets that is across the street from the modernist red church. The downstairs door code is 8527A.

Tips if you want to be my CS guest:
- Communicate fully! Don't leave me wondering if you are coming.
- Say when you will arrive. Don't have me accept your request, and THEN, for example, announce you will arrive very late.
- Tell me something about who you are traveling with. I am interested in knowing something about you, AND about each of my other guests before you arrive!
- Don't make a request if you have very little personal info on your profile. It is neither hard nor expensive to create an informative profile.
- Keep in mind that I have a polite and sometimes very social 14-year-old daughter who may – or may not – be eager to meet you!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only a couple times been a CS guest ... but I traveled rough for years and years. Lili and I have hosted a wonderful "parade" of diverse CS travelers who have truly enriched our lives!

Interests

I'm an artist, curator and writer who has traveled widely for several decades. I've shown my own artwork in a number of leading museums and galleries, and published several books of my art. I love spending time with my thirteen year old daughter, Lili, and currently enjoy bringing world-class visual artists to appreciative professional audiences. (events that mostly involve me talking enthusiastically about why I think the artist is worthwhile - and also pouring the Cava!)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being detained, briefly, by rebel soldiers while trekking in the Philippine Highlands in the late 1980's! Biking along endless green trails in my current home city of Helsinki on a "white night" of Midsummer! The birth of my daughter, 13 years ago!
