About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Journey of self discovery. Find a new way of living and being out of this rat race.

ABOUT ME

Having left England I wanted to see the whole world. I got to Australia and loved it so much I decided to stay. In 2012 I left IT and decided it was time to get the backpack on explore some more. I have traveled to a few countries and have enough stories to write a book. I thrive on new adventures and experiences and believe we travel not to escape life but to ensure life doesn't escape us.

PHILOSOPHY

Live life with a smile. Seek out something different. Help others when you can. Taking calculated risks in life helps you push the boundaries.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently I am in a tour of SE Asia. When settled I will host but I always love to meet like minded people if only briefly, even for a chat over a cup of coffee.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been 'couchsurfing' for many years without knowing it. I haven't been using the CS website until recently. I was recommended it and think it is a great way to reach out around the world. My first experience was meeting a local girl in Vietnam a fellow traveler had contacted. She spent 2 nights with us showing us the local hang outs, eating local food and meeting local people. It was a great experience and she was so giving in her time and energy. She really loved meeting us and showing us her town. I have met many local people in my time who have done the same but with CS the experience was so easy to arrange.

Interests

I love to travel. I also love riding motorbikes and think it is a great way to really experience a country. Buses are efficient but you miss so much inbetween stops. I like volunteering and have been using websites like Helpx.net to help out where I can.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Most amazing thing would be swimming with large Bull and Tiger Sharks in Fiji. Being in the water with such majestic animals with no cage and only being meters away is something I will always treasure. Nature is wonderful.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to get my English teaching qualification to teach others the most basic skill I have. Talking!
One lesson to pass on... don't be afraid to trust your instinct and just go with the flow. Some of my best adventures have just 'evolved' in front of me to take me to where I needed to be.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Bangladesh, Belgium, Cambodia, Egypt, Fiji, France, Germany, Greece, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Laos, Nepal, Netherlands, New Zealand, Portugal, Spain, Sri Lanka, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, Viet Nam
